Stay Settled in Newham Report
From March – June 2021, Newham Council funded a consortium of 10 organisations to deliver an awareness-raising project on the EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS) to vulnerable residents. The first of its kind in the borough, the campaign, known as ‘Stay Settled in Newham’ adopted a pioneering approach to engaging over 1000 residents and over 200 local community, faith and
voluntary organisations, delivering 64 in person and online events, and guiding over 300 residents through their EUSS applications in the 10 weeks before the Scheme’s deadline. Read the full report below.
50 years
The Renewal Programme celebrates 50 years of #TransformingLives in Newham.
Since 1971, the Renewal Programme has provided holistic support and vital services to the people of Newham. Our community and their needs are at the centre of the work we do.
The organisation was founded by a group of forward-thinking, generous individuals, many who spent years volunteering their time and skills, ensuring the Renewal Programme was able to provide for the community. Since then, we have grown into a specialist and integrative charity with 50+ employees, 11 Trustees and 40 volunteers. Our organisation remains close to the values and the ambitions of our founders.
As part of our 50th celebrations, we put together an online series titled ‘50 Years, 50 Faces‘, showcasing the impact we’ve had on the community over the last 50 years.
Today our priority is to meet the needs and requirements of those living within Newham who need our support to empower and transform their lives
For 50 years, we have been able to empower local residents to recognise their full potential.
Alongside our main services, The Renewal Programme also provides financial support, immigration advice and advocacy, a bi-weekly food bank, a freephone telephone support line and a befriending service.
