Mit joined The Renewal Programme last summer, but we are already impressed by his dedication to the role and his community.
On a weekly basis, Mit can be found helping digitally excluded Newham residents at our Digital Hub in Manor Park. He regularly goes above and beyond for our clients, ensuring that they feel supported and gain vital digital skills to thrive independently.
Whether it’s helping a service user to set up an email, access government entitlements, connect to the Wifi, or explore their hobbies online; he teaches residents how to get online with patience and passion.
Mit is passionate about giving back to his community – working closely with the Project Coordinator to influence the design and development of the Digital Inclusion Hub. Having insight from a volunteer like Mit helps ensure that we are keeping the community and volunteers’ needs at the heart of what we do. He also provides vital peer support to other volunteers joining the project.
Beyond his Digital Champion role, Mit is often the first to raise his hand when we were looking for volunteers for other events. He has already volunteered with our Carers Health Empowerment Project as well as with our ‘Stay Settled in Newham‘ project!
We want to say a huge thanks to Mit for everything he has done to support Newham residents and The Renewal Programme.
