We are so proud to work with such an amazing institute to make an impact on our community!
In September 2021, our Immigration services partnered with the University of East London Legal Advice Centre USS Campus. UEL LAC students now join our advice sessions, and those interested in human rights started volunteering to help our Asylum and Immigration Service Manager, Sylwia with casework and research on a variety of legal cases.
These students provide vital support to vulnerable people dealing with mental health issues, homelessness, and poverty. This free legal help supports Newham residents to secure the right to remain in the UK, work, rent, and support their families.
The partnership also allows students to make more informed career choices, and gain valuable experiences. Together with the Legal Advice Centre, we have taken a wider view and achieved greater impact, serving the local community through mutual support.
