UEL Partnership:
The students from the UEL Legal Advice Centre attended their fourth session on 9th March; the above photos were taken after the client’s departure, but we always have discussions about clients’ qualification under the Immigration and Human Rights Law.
During this session, our dedicated Immigration Advisor, Sylwia, asked students to draft a written feedback form, based on information provided by the client, with a plan to introduce them to casework during the next session.
This particular client came with a potential claim for asylum, but it was discovered that she might have a historic entitlement to a British citizenship. Regarding the claim for asylum, the client was advised that her potential claim does not have sufficient merits as the grounds under which she intended to rely are not covered by the Refugee Convention.
