The Renewal Programme is proud to have been included the recent release of the Newham magazine. In our article, we share with you how our Easter Raffle will help us to achieve our mission.
This funding raising event was created to fund the transformation of the current kitchen into a Community Kitchen that can be used to involve the community in cooking for destitute migrant families each week, to create a safe space where young or homeless people will have the opportunity to learn about healthy eating.
In our Community Kitchen, we can hold cooking classes for people who have never cooked or are unfamiliar with fresh British ingredients and we will also put on tea dances and activities. We currently support 5,000 local people but our kitchen is so grim we can only make a cup of tea. With a new kitchen, we can involve hundreds of people a year directly in the food/healthy eating projects. We would like to put on improving nutrition, health and reducing social isolation workshops. Improved room hire income will boost our sustainability too.
