Thinking of starting a new hobby for 2024?
Last year, we wrapped up 2023 with a six week pilot chess club during our Wednesday warm bank. Following the positive feedback, we are continuing our partnership with CSC to offer six weeks of chess lessons.
The chess lessons are suited for any level players – from beginner to long time players! Chess is an ideal social activity for people with limited English as you don’t even need to speak the same language as your opponent to play.
Lessons will start on Thursday 18th January at 11am-1pm and will run weekly on Thursdays until 29th February. The final session will be a mini-tournament to test the skills you’ve learnt.
Please note Thursdays sessions require a six week commitment.
If you are unsure whether you are available for these lessons, The chess club will still be running from 1-3pm on Wednesdays for those who would prefer to play more casually.
