We’ve signed up to the London Legal Walk and need your support.
We’re excited to announce that on Monday 18th October we’ll be walking (or potentially running, if we feel brave) 10k in support of providing frontline free legal advice services to migrants, refugees and asylum seekers in Newham.
Our brilliant staff are forming a team to raise funds for the Renewal Programme’s immigration advice service. We help individuals, as well as families, to obtain refugee status, leave to remain, settlement and British citizenship. 100% of the funds raised through this fundraiser will be donated to this service.
Providing free legal immigration advice forms just one part of The Renewal Programme’s commitment to refugees and migrants. Recognising the complex needs of the local community; the organisation supports those with unclear immigration status, asylum seekers and undocumented migrants, to reduce homelessness, preventing destitution and improving community cohesion.
Your support is needed now more than ever with the long-term challenges brought on by COVID-19. Since March 2021, we have supported 129 unique individuals with legal immigration cases. However, the pandemic placed increasing pressure on our advice services, and in the face of rising local need and reduced funding, we were forced to close immigration referrals.
The funds raised via the London Legal Walk will help us re-open referrals and ensure access to justice for those most vulnerable and at-risk in our community.
